The egg drop competition is an experiment where the children will attempt to create a device that can keep a raw chicken egg intact when dropped from a various heights. The kids will be asked to first design then build a device made from a limited amount of materials that will be provided. As part of the activity we will talk about the forces involved when dropping the egg and different ways to absorb the energy on impact.
