I’ve stumbled my way across these two pages…

So who wants to do this with me? I’d be nice to be able to reuse the plastic when we’re just using the printer for testing purposes…

I don’t know what paxspace is, but I want to do something similar for my school. Do you want help physically putting one together or just getting all the ideas straight?

@abrownlizard: PaxSpace is a makerspace that is located in St Mary’s County, Maryland.

For this extruder, our makerspace has one delta printer with the possibility of getting more in the future. The most expensive part about 3D printing is definitely the spools of plastic. So I was just looking for any other interest from PaxSpace’s membership OR outside interest in building something to reuse the plastic from test prints so that members can use our 3D printer without worry about the materials involved.

Right now I’m more interested in gathering ideas and other persons of interest. If I get enough people (only need 2 or 3 members total) that are willing to put time and effort into building one for PaxSpace, then we’d probably move forward and try to build one.

I’m also hoping to document the process on our wiki so that others would have a good reference if they were to try and build one. Always good to learn from others mistakes and processes so that you don’t have to start from scratch.
