    Interestingly enough, we might be driving (since we’re not using geckos that add in a sort of current damping so this doesn’t happen) the steppers right in the region where they drop out…

    Since our nuts are probably more wore out in one direction vs another, it stands to reason that the applied torque changes when we move forward vs backwards. The above graph (mid-banding resonance) moves to show that the reason we’re not skipping/stalling the steppers in one direction when we go slower is because we are intentionally missing that drop out band in the torque/speed graph but when we keep the same speed going in both directions, the different torqueing on the nuts/shaft/motor puts us in that dropout range.
